Find the right container

8ft, 10ft, 20ft or 40ft
Containers are available in different dimensions and models. Next to standard 20ft and 40ft containers used in sea transport, you can find tank containers, refrigerated containers, special containers like platforms, open top etc.
Besides sea containers there are storage type containers, offshore containers and cabins.
CFI produces all such types or at least can supply them in cooperation with partners.

Container weights and payload The maximum loading capacity is always shown on the container itself. It is shown on a steel plate that is located on one of the doors. On this plate you will find three different values: Max Gross (this is the maximum weight of the container itself including cargo), Tare (this is the weight of the empty container), Max Payload (this is the maximum loading capacity).

Container dimensions Containers have many standard sizes expressed in ft (feet). There are also extra high (high cube containers 9ft6") and extra wide containers (pallet wide containers). Almost every container meets the demands stated in ISO. These ISO Containers are always provided with a stamped plate.

Offshore containers represent other values which are specifically engineered for this industry and comply with the DNV 2.7-1 offshore regulations. All the data information is displayed on the offshore data plate. Lifting gear is also an important part of the specification.

Cabins comply with special requirements for insulation, electricity and building and living environment.

Offshore containers

Energy consumption plays a significant role in the entire world. The exploration of Oil and Gas and even the new developments in the Wind energy sector demand efficient logistics both on- and offshore.

Safety comes first in this respect and containers should comply with the highest regulations when it comes to transporting and lifting them in sometimes rough conditions. Classification societies such as DNV (Det Norske Veritas) set out the world standard for safe use, DNV 2.7-1 EN 12079. Offshore containers and baskets manufactured by CFI comply with all these strict regulations, individually certified by DNV but also by Lloyd's Register of London and other bodies.

Qualified welders follow certified welding procedures and materials used are fully traceable. CFI is specialist in also building custom build projects for Offshore use. The engineering team always finds a solution and works closely together with the certifying bodies. Quality control and ongoing test programs are part of the service.

Due to our experience in the maritime container world our CFI offshore containers are made fit to suit ISO standards for easy and efficient sea container transport so more and more find their way in the Oil and Gas districts all over the world.
