Mission & History
Mission statement and strategy
CFI aims to produce high end quality containers and cabins using modern techniques. Our expertise is built up over the years and after joining the European Union and working together with our joint venture partner Ter Haak Group in Amsterdam we have found the right mix to supply the world with Fine Quality Containers built in Romania.
Close to the new East European gateway of the Constanza port in Romania our strategy is the desire for growth based on long-term client relations. We believe that the quality of turnover and services is more important than the quantity, and aim to fund our growth through result-oriented commerce and a conservative financial policy.
Our joint venture partner complements us to create a wide range of synergies. By joining forces with the Ter Haak Group we offer customised concepts that can include any or all modalities. Our services are devised to achieve maximum efficiency. Whenever possible we supplement our services with added value logistic activities and warehousing, on site if required.
Ultimately it is the people at every level of the organisation that determine our success. CFI constantly strives to ensure a safe and healthy working environment and to offer our employees equal opportunities for development. As a result our company is renowned for operating in a decisive and client-oriented manner.
Our working method is characterised by a continuous focus on both innovation and providing the best possible service. We follow a long tradition of offering fast, flexible and reliable tailor-made services that meet the requirements of our clients, with an entrepreneurial and creative spirit to the fore. Integrity and a respect for the environment and society are woven through every aspect of our operations.
History
In the 1970's Ircumt factory located in Iasi, in the North Eastern part of Romania, was at that time, one of the biggest container factories in the world. Government controlled it was capable of producing 20ft and 40ft standard dry freight seacontainers for shipping lines, like Norasia, calling the Black Sea ports. At that time it gained a lot of experience.
After the Ceausescu regime was put to a halt in the 1980's the country began to restrucure so it was also the case with the factory which was renamed to Contis. Privatized it began to spread it's wings in Europe and a partner was found by the name of Richard ter Haak, who ran a container trading company in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (CCA). Step by step the corporation grew resulting in the establishment of a joint venture Container Factory Iasi (CFI) in 2005. CFI started the further development of the production of special custom built offshore and storage containers and shelters and the production is still growing to this date.
